Welcome to the Oak Hill Hospital website. We have made every effort to ensure that you will find our website helpful in providing information about our physicians, our services, and the many health information resources available to you.

Oak Hill Hospital has been serving the Nature Coast since 1984. We have grown to become Hernando and Citrus Counties largest and most advanced medical facility, offering Hernando County's only comprehensive heart program including open heart surgery.

Oak Hill Hospital has achieved distinction as the:

• First Chest Pain Center in Hernando and Citrus County accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers
• First Primary Stroke Center to be fully accredited by the Joint Commission (JC) in Citrus and Hernando Counties
• First hospital in the area to be recognized as an accredited Cancer Institute
• First Heart Failure Center in the region accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers

Oak Hill Hospital received full Heart Failure Accreditation status from the Society of Chest Pain Centers in June of 2010. It is a three year accreditation which extends until June 2013. Oak Hill is the third hospital in the state of Florida to receive this distinction. The hospital has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and underwent an extensive on-site review by a team of the Society of Chest Pain Centers Accreditation Review Specialists. The emphasis of accredited Heart Failure Centers is to reduce time to treatment and to risk stratify patients to decrease their length of stay.

Our expanded Emergency Department continues to strive for higher standards. When faced with a life threatening injury or illness, time matters. That's why our team of nationally certified Registered Nurses and Board Certified physicians are dedicated to diagnosing and treating patients faster than any hospital in Citrus and Hernando Counties.

The Cancer Institute at Oak Hill Hospital continues to enjoy an affiliation agreement with Shands Health Care and the University of Florida Shands Cancer Center. This collaboration provides cooperative diagnostic treatment protocols and continuing medical education opportunities for specialized health care of complex medical conditions.
